Texas A&M uses traffic-shaping devices on ResNet to limit the amount of bandwidth that can be used by certain programs, such as peer-to-peer applications. Typically these programs are bandwidth hogs, and if left unchecked, would consume all of ResNet's available bandwidth to the Internet. We do not limit or shape communication to campus resources.

If you have any questions about traffic-shaping measures, contact Help Desk Central at 979.845.8300 or helpdesk@tamu.edu.
